Berean Christian Stores is a regional chain of Christian bookstores based in Cincinnati, OH. Our stores, which span the United States, offer a large assortment of Biblically-based products in an easy-to-shop environment. Christian books, Bibles, music, gifts, family entertainment, home décor, jewelry, cards, apparel, church supplies and curriculum include the many resources we have to offer.
Our mission is to serve the Lord by serving our customer and giving back to the communities in which God has placed us. We want to exemplify Christian principles by providing Christian and inspirational products and services in an atmosphere of integrity, innovation and excellence. It is important to our owners, leadership and employees that Berean Christian Stores works to ensure that the products in our stores are correct on the person and work of Jesus Christ.
The history of the chain dates to 1934, with the opening of the first store, called Berean Book Room. In Biblical times, the members of the church at Berea were recognized by the Apostle Paul for their careful study and analysis of the Scriptures. Since 2008, Berean Christian Stores has been owned by a Christian family who believes they have been called by God to lead Berean to an even greater level of ministry than ever before.
For almost 80 years, shoppers have and trusted in the Berean brand. God has been faithful and has brought Berean through much over the decades. Under this leadership, Berean Christian Stores is determined more than ever to grow, because we believe that we are in business today to be a refuge for our Guests. A place where all can find comfort, safety, healing, inspiration and excellent service in a store environment combined with an assortment and product selection that will equip our Guests to “Be Christ to the World” and to GIVE HOPE.
The ministry arm of GIVE HOPE began under this leadership, and the goal of GIVE HOPE is to give back to communities in which the Lord has placed our stores. Each of our 18 stores has a ministry partner that the Lord has placed in their hearts. Through GIVE HOPE, our Guests, our stores and even our owners have contributed thousands of dollars over the last few years and that number is growing. Together, we have cared for children living in orphanages, provided food and shelter for the homeless, fixed homes for those couldn’t help themselves, given protection to women who were abused, even pregnant with no where to turn, brought freedom to boys and girls trapped in a life or modern day slavery and helped in times of crisis, such as Hurricane Sandy.
Now, we have teamed up with our Vendor partners to offer GIVE HOPE IN DEED to our Guests. GIVE HOPE IN DEED allows our guests to take part in personal ministry like never before, by allowing them to write notes, offer prayer and encouragement to someone in need.

Matthew 25:35-40
“For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.' "Then these righteous ones will reply, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?' And the King will tell them, 'I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!'”

We believe that the Bible is the everlasting, inerrant Word of God. It is the cornerstone of our product assortment and is the baseline for everything we do.
Prayer
We believe in the power of prayer. Each of our stores and our home office begins each day in prayer for our employees, customers and business partners. Prayer requests can be submitted in our stores or online at Berean.com.
Integrity

People
