A classic work on the Old Testament offerings and their significance for the New Testament believer! Andrew Jukes explores the offerings of Leviticus as types of Christ's work in providing for the believer's access to and fellowship with God. As Jukes observes, "Leviticus begins after redemption is known, and speaks of things connected with the access of a chosen people to God. . . . Christ in his work is the sum and substance of these types."
"A classic on the typological significance of the offerings mentioned in Leviticus, showing how each clearly points toward some particular aspect of the redemptive work of Christ." --David W. Brookman
Author, Basic Books for the Minister's Library
"No one explains the significance of the Levitical offerings (in relation to Calvary) as well as Jukes does here. . . . It bursts into life with several superb chapters which are practically essential to the study of Leviticus." --Peter M. Masters
Pastor, Metropolitan Tabernacle (Spurgeon's)
"A very condensed, instructive, refreshing book. It will open up new trains of thought to those unversed in the teaching of the types." --Charles H. Spurgeon
Andrew Jukes (1815-1901) was educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Cambridge, England. He was appointed deacon and was licensed to the curacy of St. John's Church, Hull. Jukes' writing also includes The Names of God in Holy Scripture.
