Universal Republic trailblazers Anberlin will be working with acclaimed, Grammy winning producer Brendan O’Brien on the eagerly-awaited follow-up to their 2008 breakthrough signature album New Surrender. The upcoming studio album, Anberlin’s fifth, is currently scheduled for a Sept 7, 2010 release. The renowned O’Brien has produced some of the most iconic artists in rock, including Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, and the Rage Against the Machine, among others, recently winning three Grammy awards, including the coveted Producer Of The Year award. Mutual fans of each other’s work, it will be the first production collaboration between O’Brien and the band. The album will be recorded in Nashville, TN studio Blackbird Studio, which has hosted some of music’s most original artists, including Beck, Kings Of Leon, The White Stripes, Tim McGraw, and others. The sessions, taking place in March and April, will mark the first time the group has recorded in the country music capital. Anberlin’s last two albums were recorded in Seattle and Los Angeles. Stephen Christian, charismatic front-man of Anberlin, recently moved to Nashville. “We’re ecstatic that Brendan O’Brien will be producing our new album,” he stated. “It is an honor to have him aboard. He is genuinely passionate about our music, and we have always been in awe of his amazing track record. It will be great working in Nashville, which provides us with a tremendous opportunity to soak up the surroundings and push ourselves musically and creatively.
